Guided tour of the ascent of the dome
A guided tour of the ascent to the dome is an unusual experience. Visitors, accompanied by a volunteer tour guide, climb to the viewing platform which is 67 meters above the ground. During the course of this, they learn interesting facts about the history, the rebuilding and the use of the Frauenkirche. Visitors are rewarded for their efforts with a fantastic panoramic view over Dresden, the curve of the river Elbe and the surrounding area.
Times: | Summertime (April to October) every half an hour from 6.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wintertime (November to March) between 4.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Occasional appointments before 10 a.m. Only by pre-booking. |
Duration: | Around 45 minutes. (Including the time at the viewing platform and the time needed for the descent, please plan for around 1 hour.) |
