Full Choir of the Frauenkirche
The full choir of the Frauenkirche consists of 120 male and female singers and was founded by Matthias Grünert, the Frauenkirche choir master, in 2005. Twice a year, the choir performs one major choral symphonic work in the Frauenkirche; in 2006 the Requiem by Johannes Brahms and the Oratorio ‘St. Paul’ by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. In the practices, which take place regularly once a week, besides the rehearsal of these great works of choral literature, the main emphasis is placed upon developing the romantic a cappella repertoire.
Male and female singers who are interested and capable are cordially welcome to make contact and attend an audition. In addition, for those singers who are motivated, but who cannot regularly sing in the Frauenkirche choir, there are project-related opportunities to join in, as for example the ‘Bach cantata to sing along’.
