House Rules
House Rules
We explicitly point out that the building style of the Frauenkirche is
not in accordance with present-day building regulations. Hence, there
are special dangers associated with the ascent to the dome which require
visitors to take extra care. This relates especially to climbing the
very steep ladder-type stairs and spiral walkways.
On account of these risks, ascent to the dome is only allowed for children
and young people under age of 12 is only allowed if they are
accompanied by adults who must be able to guarantee constant supervision.
Special care and attention are required especially in the
following areas: ladder-type stairs, spiral walkways and viewing platform.
In general, the ascent is only recommendable for people in good
health, not for visitors suffering from fear of heights and/or confined
spaces; impairments of the musculoskeletal system, breathing difficulties
or impaired vision.
Please, make sure to wear robust footwear.
When using the lift, ascending via the stairwell is not possible. Noise
and loud talking should be avoided throughout the building.
Smoking and using matches or lighters is forbidden on the way to the
viewing platform and on the platform itself.
It is strictly forbidden to throw objects from the viewing platform.
The ascent to the dome is dependent upon weather conditions. The
ascent is not possible when the viewing platform is frozen over or
wind strength is higher than 6.
Large pieces of luggage, food and beverages are not permitted.
Umbrellas can be left in umbrella stands at the foot of the stairs
(R.801). Umbrellas are left at owners’ risk.
Pets are not permitted.
Instructions by supervisory personnel must be followed unconditionally.
Parents are responsible for their children. Ascent to the dome is at
visitors’ risk.
These House Rules are effective from 6 June 2008 and may be modified
and amended by additional provisions.
