The Dresden Frauenkirche Foundation was founded on 28th June 1994 and approved in a deed dated 3rd August 1994 by the State Minister of the Interior of the Free State of Saxony. Founders are the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the State of Saxony, the Free State of Saxony and the state capital of Dresden.  
 
Main task of the Dresden Frauenkirche Foundation is organising and shaping life in the Frauenkirche. The byelaws and guidelines form the basis of the Foundation’s work. The objective of the Foundation’s work is to make the motto of the Frauenkirche ‘Building bridges – living reconciliation – strengthening faith’ vital and experienceable. The project is implemented day in, day out by all staff and many volunteers. 
 
The Dresden Frauenkirche Foundation is an incorporated civil-law foundation. It is a non-profit organisation, i.e. it works selflessly and does not primarily pursue profitability aims. Decisions regarding the Foundation’s work are made by different bodies.
