The Sound of Sunday
The heart of church music is the proclamation of the glory of God. This function is experienced in a special way in spiritual music on Sundays. Over the centuries, composers have interpreted the stages of the liturgical year and left behind a treasure trove of artistic cantatas, masses, motets, and spirited instrumental works. This series, which is supported by the ensembles of the Frauenkirche and enriched by selected guest ensembles, presents a varied cross-section of these works.
Spiritual Music on Sundays
Spiritual Music on Sundays, which takes place on selected Sunday afternoons at 16:00, guides you through the liturgical year with a diverse and varied program. Whether trumpet and organ, a capella or choral symphonies, particularly by Bach, Haydn, and Mozart – the music makes the character of a Sunday musically tangible in space and sound. There are also thoughts on gospel, prayer requests, and blessings.
